Armour, cuirass made of coconut fibre (coir). Plaited lengths or ribs of coir are placed on top of one another, each one is covered with two-ply twisted, interlinking coir cords. The individual ribs are covered and secured in place by two-ply, interlinking twisted coir cords. The sides of the cuirass culminate in a waistband which can be tightened and secured by a coir plaited tie. A panel of similar construction is attached to the back to protect the neck of the wearer.
