Bronze lamp with a deep rounded body and two flat-topped nozzles with rounded ends and semicircular wick-holes, flanked by volutes with spines at the wick-hole and knobs at the body end. At the rear is an applied bust of a maenad. The concave filling-hole area is surrounded by a raised rim, perhaps applied; there is a central filling-hole and three subsidiary holes. The volute-knobs are pierced for suspension, and there is a suspension-lug at the rear of the maenad's head. To these points are attached lengths of loop-in-loop chain, perhaps not ancient, coming together at a ring with a further chain an a spiked hook (ancient). The base-ring is concave within, the inner surface very rough.
